Chiropractic
A Doctor of Chiropractic (D.C.) also known as a chiropractor, is a qualified healthcare professional that specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of conditions associated with the body’s joints, muscles, and nerves.
At Clover Hills Rehabilitation, our chiropractors use a hands-on approach involving chiropractic adjustments together with soft tissue therapy to help relieve pain, increase range of motion, and restore normal function. Chiropractors treat neuro-musculoskeletal complaints, including but not limited to back pain, neck pain, pain in the joints of the arms or legs, and headaches. Chiropractors are also trained to perform electrotherapy treatments and recommend therapeutic exercises.
Physiotherapy
Physiotherapists are licensed healthcare professionals who work autonomously and collaboratively alongside physicians and healthcare teams. With a patient-centred approach, physiotherapists use evidence-informed knowledge of rehabilitation sciences, anatomy, kinesiology and physiology to assess, treat, and manage pain, injuries, movement dysfunction, and chronic conditions. The goal of physiotherapy is to empower, promote independence and improve the quality of life for our patients, across all ages and abilities.
Physiotherapists (or physical therapists) will work with you to put together a treatment plan, for your condition or injury, so you can get back to enjoying life and the activities you love.
Physiotherapists work with clients of all ages and with a wide range of health conditions. Whether it’s pain management and rehabilitation from an acute injury like a sprained ankle or management of chronic conditions such as diabetes or heart disease, a physiotherapist can help. A physiotherapist also provides education and treatments aimed at health promotion and disease and injury prevention.
Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy
Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy (VRT) is a specialized form of physiotherapy prescribed to treat and improve the symptoms caused by vestibular disorders. It often involves manual head maneuvers and/or a progressive program of exercises designed to reduce vertigo and dizziness, visual issues, and/or imbalance and fall incidence.
After an injury to the vestibular system occurs, the central nervous system can compensate for the reduced function of the inner ears. Essentially, the brain copes with the imbalanced signals coming from the vestibular system by learning to rely more heavily on alternative signals coming from other systems in the body to maintain vestibular balance. This can be achieved through various exercise strategies outlined below. When this central (or brain) compensation occurs, the patient’s symptoms can be alleviated and allows them to return to normal function.
Patients typically referred for Vestibular Rehabilitation have been diagnosed with a vestibular condition including:
Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV)
Vestibular Neuritis/Labyrinthitis
Unilateral Vestibular Hypofunction (UVH)
Vestibular Migraine
Persistent Postural Perceptual Dizziness (PPPD)
Mal de Debarquement (MdDS)
Cervicogenic Dizziness
Post Concussion Syndrome (PCS)
Meniere’s Disease
Neurological conditions (i.e. stroke, traumatic brain injury)
Vestibular deconditioning from aging or inactivity
And many other vestibular conditions. Our Physiotherapist, Priscilla Augustine, specializes in treating these conditions to help alleviate symptoms.

Acupuncture
With the body's physical, mental and emotional demands it is placed under on a day to day basis, it is common for an imbalance to occur between the three aspects. This can lead to us feeling depleted of energy, experiencing physical pain, and having heightened stress and anxiety. It is important to now allow our day to day demands to have a drastic impact on our overall health. These imbalances can be restored with the help of an experienced Acupuncturist.
Our acupuncturists understand how to effectively identify the root cause of the imbalances and how to restore the balance in your body. Through techniques like, Acupuncture Needling, GuaSha, Massage and Cupping, our Acupuncturists will get your body functioning optimally. Treat and prevent your body's pain, energy imbalances, stress and anxiety with our professional Acupuncture Services.
Cosmetic Acupuncture
Cosmetic acupuncture, also known as facial rejuvenation acupuncture, has been part of Traditional Chinese Medicine for hundreds of years. Cosmetic acupuncture is a skin care treatment that rejuvenates the appearance of your skin to help reduce and prevent the common signs of aging.
During treatment, several very small thin needles are placed in specific locations across the face. These needles act as triggers causing your body to increase blood flow and stimulate your skin to produce an increase in collagen and elastin. This leads to a more healthy skin appearance.
When people think about cosmetic procedures, fillers or Botox usually come to mind first. You may be concerned about the unwanted side effects that come with Botox injections. Cosmetic acupuncture is an excellent alternative treatment to Botox and has few side effects aside from occasional bruising.
During your acupuncture treatment, your acupuncturist will assess your overall health and discuss your main concerns before proceeding.
